Restorative Dental Services

Your smile today may not be as healthy as it once was. Years of wear, tear, injury, or poor care can hurt the look and function of your teeth. With restorative dentistry, Dr. Scott can restore you to excellent dental health using implants, crowns and bridges and other treatments designed to give you freedom from pain, discomfort and future problems. Ask Dr. Scott to create a customized treatment plan for you.

Implant Restoration

A dental implant is one of the most permanent forms of restorative dentistry and can be used to restore a single tooth or several teeth. Dental implants involve the placement of a surgical grade titanium or zirconia post by one of the doctor’s trusted specialists. Dr. Scott works with our specialist to make sure that the materials used are the one most biocompatible with the patient. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation for the attachment of a crown or a prosthetic tooth that is custom created for you. Implants are sometimes used instead of bridges to maintain the integrity of the teeth on either side of the missing teeth.

Crown and Implant Supported Crown

If you have one tooth, or several teeth, that are damaged due to wear and tear, injury or decay, porcelain crowns may be the solution that heals your smile.

If you’ve previously received crowns at the dentist, you may remember the process requiring at least two dental visits over a two or three week period. At Holistic Dental Alternatives we use CEREC™. CEREC™ is a technological system that allows for the fabrication of crowns and other restorations in a single visit. Many restorations require several visits to the dentist, but with CEREC’s™ system a natural-looking restoration, that has many of the properties of natural teeth, can be custom created for you in less time assuring you of a more comfortable dental experience. This precise and efficient technology saves you valuable time and gives you your dazzling smile faster than ever before.

A crown from Dr. Scott is a custom-made tooth, milled out of porcelain that is placed over your own natural tooth (after a little preparation). Since the crown is custom made for you, it will be indistinguishable from your natural teeth, and will function so naturally that it feels fantastic. Whether you require one or several crowns, you can rest assured that your smile will look incredible.

Bridge and Implant Supported Bridge

A bridge uses the structure of the teeth on either side of a gap to act as anchor points for suspending a prosthetic tooth in the empty space – “bridging the gap.” An implant supported bridge simply uses dental implants, instead of neighboring teeth, to act as the anchor points for a bridge. The end result is the same… a complete, beautiful, functional smile!

TMJ Treatment

One of the advantages of visiting Dr. Scott’s office is that we can often diagnose and correct problems that you may not even consider being related to dentistry. Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder can cause headaches, neck aches and backaches, stuffiness or pain in the ears, and dizziness or fainting, but rarely does the typical patient think to consult their dentist when suffering from any of these symptoms. Frequently, TMJ sufferers mistakenly believe that they have an ear infection when in fact their symptoms may be the result of an unstable or traumatic bite relationship. TMJ issues can also often be the result of an impaired airway. At Dr. Scott’s, we have provided safe, effective TMJ treatment and sleep apnea treatment for patients throughout the Spring, TX area. Denture

Your confidence fades and your appearance can change after tooth loss. With dentures, you can get back to your confident, normal life even after the loss of your teeth. Offering only the most advanced removable dentures to best fit you, your Holistic Dental team will guide you every step of the way. Our team creates custom dentures made for you and helps you select the shade and shape. You walk away with great fitting dentures that look just like real teeth, and smiling is just the beginning.

Partial Denture

Partial dentures are used if you have several teeth missing that cannot be corrected with a bridge. The partial denture is removable and designed to fit comfortably and blend in with your natural smile. In some situations, this type of denture is made with denture teeth that are supported by a lightweight, flexible material. It mimics your gum tissue and teeth to create a natural looking smile while still remaining functional. The partial is important once the teeth have been removed to preserve the bone and to keep existing teeth from tilting and growing in towards the gaps. We make every effort to be metal free in our office, and this includes partial dentures.

Implant Supported Dentures

While typical dentures shift and sometimes require the use of denture adhesives to keep them in place, implant supported dentures fit solidly, reducing the problems associated with traditional dentures such as gum sores, difficulty speaking and difficulty chewing. Implant supported dentures rely on dental implants to anchor them in place – a dental implant is a titanium post that is inserted and fused to your jawbone, mimicking the root structure of your natural teeth. Implant supported dentures distribute your biting pressure, stimulating the supportive structures of your teeth and preventing the bone and soft tissues from shrinking away. You can replace an entire set of teeth with beautiful, natural-looking implants.
